Deomali, the 1st October 2026: The Subdivisional Administration Deomali in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School, Deomali organised a ‘Street Play & Musical Concert’, first of its kind as a part of the ‘Week of Non-Violence’ under the aegis of the ‘International Day of Non-Violence 2026’.
The event was graced by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Deomali Shri Tana Bapu, APCS , ZPM Deomali Smt. Yalik Lowang, ZPM Soha Shri Wanglem Thingnok, HoDs, Teachers, Public Leaders & general public of Deomali.
The Assistant Commissioner Deomali Smt. I.T Riba on her opening address emphasised on the details of the event & why it is being organised.
The event saw various performances by the students of GHSS Deomali including a band performance by the OLD-Zs.
The highlight of the event was the Street Play themed ‘Non-Violence’ orchestrated by the Students of GHSS Deomali and narrated by Ms Jyoti Panka, PGT(Pol Sci),GHSS and National Teachers’ Awardee 2024.
The event also included a musical concert by the Nocte Idol Season-1 finalists Shri Samban Sawin from Makat village & Banban Moika from Doidam Village. Their contribution towards spreading peace and non-violence through music was much appreciated by the public.
The event was hosted by the Circle Officer-cum-Town Magistrate Deomali. Briefing the media he highlighted the need for engaging students as ambassadors for peace & that they have a crucial role to play in shaping the society.
This first of its kind initiative by the Administration is an effort to spread peace, positivity & non-violence and also remembering the ideals of Gandhi Ji.
