MY Bharat and Health Department Host ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva’ Health Awareness Programme in Old Ziro

ZIRO, October 1: MY Bharat, in coordination with the Health Department, organised a health and awareness programme themed “My Health, My Pride” at the Community Health Centre, Old Ziro, in Lower Subansiri district on October 1.

The programme was organised as part of the nationwide “100 Sundays towards Nasha Mukt Bharat” campaign being conducted across 200 districts in the country. The initiative aimed to raise awareness among youth and the community about the harmful effects of drug addiction and encourage the adoption of healthy and responsible lifestyles.

District Youth Officer, Lower Subansiri, Shaffali Yadav, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. The programme was conducted under the leadership and guidance of District Medical Officer, Lower Subansiri, Millo Kuniya.

The event featured expert awareness sessions focusing on health, lifestyle and substance abuse. Tanu Yaring spoke about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and highlighted the role of positive daily habits and choices in promoting overall well-being.

Koj Sunya conducted an awareness session on the physical, psychological and social effects of drug addiction, explaining its impact not only on individuals but also on families and the wider community.

As part of the programme, free medical check-ups were also conducted by doctors and healthcare staff of the Community Health Centre, Old Ziro. Participants were provided an opportunity to assess their health and receive medical guidance from healthcare professionals.

The organisers said the initiative reinforced the importance of building a healthy and drug-free society as part of the vision of a Viksit Bharat. The programme also encouraged young people to prioritise their health and remain away from substance abuse.
