Wangcha Rajkumar Government College Organises 3-Km “Health Walk” in Deomali

DEOMALI, October 1: The NSS Unit of Wangcha Rajkumar Government College, Deomali, in collaboration with the Range Forest Office, Deomali, organised a 3-kilometre “Health Walk” on October 1 under the theme “My Health, My Pride.”

The programme began at 5 a.m. from the college campus and concluded at Coffee Board. The initiative aimed to encourage young people to take greater responsibility for their physical and mental health and promote healthy lifestyle practices.

A total of 32 participants took part in the programme, including Range Forest Officer, Deomali, Diwang Lowang; Guest Faculty, Department of Hindi, Tangmi Changmi; and NSS Programme Officer Ngamwang Lowang.

Addressing the participants, Diwang Lowang urged the youth to remain vigilant and create greater public awareness about human-elephant conflict. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and called upon young people to stay away from drug abuse.

Earlier, in his keynote address, NSS Programme Officer Ngamwang Lowang highlighted the importance of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” campaign. He encouraged young people to actively participate in community service and contribute towards building a healthy, active and vibrant society.

He emphasised that a physically and mentally healthy youth population can make a significant contribution to India’s development and growth in the years ahead.

The programme concluded with the administration of the Nasha Mukt Pledge by Diwang Lowang. Participants pledged to stay away from substance abuse and contribute towards building a healthy, drug-free and vibrant society.
