Old Lainwang, September 28, 2026: The Department of District Food & Civil Supplies, Tirap, organised a SEVA SETU Camp at Old Lainwang village on Monday to facilitate access to essential government services and create awareness among beneficiaries about various provisions and entitlements under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and Public Distribution System (PDS).

The camp was led by DF&CSO Bompi Kadu, with officials of the department sensitising beneficiaries about schemes, services and entitlements available under the NFSA and PDS. The awareness programme focused on informing eligible beneficiaries about their rights and the procedures for accessing government benefits.

A key focus of the camp was the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), under which eligible Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries receive foodgrains. Officials also explained ration entitlements, stating that AAY households are entitled to 35 kg of foodgrains per household per month, while PHH beneficiaries are entitled to 5 kg per person per month.

The camp also facilitated e-KYC for ration card beneficiaries, along with Aadhaar and mobile number seeding to support authentication and access to PDS services. Officials also addressed the enrolment of eligible uncovered beneficiaries under PMGKAY/NFSA and explained the grievance redressal mechanism available for resolving issues related to PDS services.

Beneficiaries were further informed about the renewal and online updating of ration cards, including AAY, PHH and other eligible household categories, wherever applicable. The services were aimed at helping beneficiaries complete necessary documentation and access their entitled benefits more efficiently.

Hundreds of beneficiaries attended the SEVA SETU Camp, along with Gaon Burahs (GBs), Head Gaon Burahs (HGBs), PRI members and members of Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

The initiative aimed to bring government services closer to residents of Old Lainwang, strengthen awareness about food security entitlements and ensure that eligible beneficiaries can access services and benefits under the NFSA and PDS.
