Itanagar, August 18: The Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) conducted its first-ever Virtual Special General Body Meeting (SGM) of 2026, with representatives from 26 District Football Associations (DFAs) across the state participating in the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by APFA Senior Vice President Kipa Takum and primarily focused on the National Sports Governance Act (NSGA) 2025 and its implications for the administration, functioning and governance of football in Arunachal Pradesh.
Representatives of the participating District Football Associations actively took part in the deliberations, raising queries and seeking clarification on various provisions of the Act and the compliance requirements under the new national sports governance framework.
APFA Legal Advisor Adv. Tania Kipa provided legal consultancy and guidance during the meeting, helping the members understand the legal, administrative and governance aspects associated with the NSGA 2025.
The successful conduct of the virtual meeting marks a significant milestone in the sports sector of Arunachal Pradesh, as it is the first-ever Virtual Special General Body Meeting conducted by a sports association in the state.
The initiative also reflects APFA’s efforts towards promoting transparent, inclusive, modern and accountable sports governance. The association said the exercise would help ensure that APFA and its affiliated District Football Associations remain aligned with the evolving national sports governance framework.
